For several years Maisons du Monde was looking for a location in Palermo. In the former area of a well-known company of semi-finished wood products very important in the city, in Via Fulvio Testi, Maisons du Monde opened its doors at the end of May 2019, after many difficulties, with a number of accesses never recorded before in a new opening. For Alhena it is a flagship among his achievements.
First of all, the site: being part of an existing and mostly outdated structure requires the ability to put in place all the technical, managerial and design skills expressed to the fullest. Often the installation requirements of the latest concepts do not match the lift of existing structures. Either the distribution of space for a craft or storage activity must be reviewed in the light of the new use. This implies the need for a very detailed and in-depth preliminary analysis, aimed at identifying those elements which, already during the negotiation of the location, can become a delicate implementation.
The wise experience of our site manager Sandro has made it possible to reduce to a minimum the friction that can frequently be generated on such complex sites, transforming the site into a functioning organism, where all the actors were able to operate in a spirit of collaboration and mutual understanding.
